Housing
Working together to address the priorities that matter most to them and their neighbors, The ZONE Resident Steering Committee has chosen housing as a priority for the past two years. This addresses both housing stability and creating more affordable housing.
Building More Affordable Housing
Many households host extended family and friends in single-family homes. Adding accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and smaller multi-family options could help reduce overcrowding and keep families close.
Homeowners:
-
62% are interested in adding an Accessory Dwelling Unit (ADU) for income or to expand neighborhood housing options.
Renters:
-
76% want to buy a home in Northeast Spokane.
-
95% would buy a home if they had Down Payment Assistance.
-
Renters often have more people and more children in fewer bedrooms than homeowners.
